These policies are posted on the university’s website and communicated publicly. These policies also align with govt.’s various missions like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, National Solar Mission, energy efficiency programs, environment protection plans etc.
Use of Solar Photovoltaic Power
The university has a 400kWp PV power plant in line with govt. plan called Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission 2010 that aims to get India on path of clean solar energy.
Ban of single use plastic notification
The university already has implemented a notification for ban on single use plastics in the campus and have active policy on usage of plastics and their disposal.
Awareness campaigns
The Centre of Excellence in Energy Science and Technology conducts webinars related to Energy and Environment and various SDGs. The university also works with NGO ‘Healing Himalayas’ https://healinghimalayas.org/ to carry out various activities for environment action and sustainability.
All these initiatives are in line with National Missions of the Indian Government like Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan etc.
Evidence
This is evident from installation of solar photovoltaic power plant in line of govt’s Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission and various other initiatives like use of biogas, ban of plastics, wastewater recycling, rainwater harvesting, etc. (Refer to all Sustainability Policies Annexure-I to XI and SDG 7 Status Report).

Shoolini University takes an active role in informing and supporting government efforts in clean energy and energy-efficient technology policy development. These policies are being communicated to government agencies for potential statewide implementation, demonstrating the university's commitment to contributing to society's betterment. Furthermore, Shoolini University conducts awareness campaigns through its Centre of Excellence in Energy Science and Technology, organizing webinars on energy, environment, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Shoolini University has also partnered with the Association of Indian Universities in New Delhi to create a handbook outlining SDG goals and collaborative strategies, serving as a blueprint for higher education institutions to achieve a more sustainable future.
