The University has divestment policy as a part of Energy Policy for the fossil fuel divestment and invest in Climate Change solutions to reduce carbon emissions in the University. As a follow up the University has adopted & formulated. Energy & Environment policies and taken measures as mentioned in above sections. Energy Policy & Environment Policies are important component of divestment policy under which the University is divesting investments from coal and oil. EXISTENCE OF POLICY
1. The divestment policy is a part of Energy Policy Under the policy the university has discouraged the utilization of fossil fuels, oil based public transportation inside the campus.
2. Encouraged the utilization of alternate solar energy to generate electricity rather than electricity generated from coal based thermal power plants.
3. Encouraged utilization of concentrated Solar steam community cooking system for 500 students in the university hostels to save LPG cylinders used for cooking.
4. Encouraged utilization of Electric carts inside the campuses for public transportation.
2021
Shoolini University has put in place several measures to move towards alternate energy sources. These include electric battery vehicles for in-campus movement, solar cookers for major kitchens and solar power generation for the University.
