BA (Hons) Sociology at Shoolini University is a four-year undergraduate program where students examine social behaviour and how it shapes the world around us. The course looks at how families, communities, and institutions work, why inequalities form and persist, and how social change takes hold. Alongside theory and research training, students learn to study these questions with evidence rather than assumption. Teaching is hands-on, with inclusive classrooms, fresh approaches to assessment, and close one-on-one support.
The course focuses on the idea of 'sociological imagination', a way of noticing, describing, and making sense of social life. Students learn to gather evidence, put theory to work on real problems, and explain what they find, both face to face and online. They are encouraged to take up approved volunteering or a work placement, which deepens their grasp of the subject and strengthens their job prospects.
Sociology students learn from faculty who bring genuine research depth to the classroom, and have access to the Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness. Shoolini's ties with more than 250 universities abroad open the door to student exchange and a wider view of how societies work across cultures. The degree leads into research, policy, social development, public services, and media, or further study for those who want to specialise.
If a student exits after completing 3 years, the degree awarded will be BA only.
If a student completes the full 4 years, the degree awarded will be BA (Hons) with Specialisation.
