Policy protecting who report discrimination

Shoolini University fraternity is guided by the principles of providing equal opportunity to all. These values have been ingrained in every aspect and manner of conduct expected between individuals and amongst groups of students, teachers, and staff. Transparency and fairness in dealings, providing safe and secure academic as well as living environment, wellbeing and health, respect and sensitivity towards diversities are some of the tenets we follow. All these values are closely aligned with the NAAC Core Values, “Inculcating a Value System among students” in particular. A key factor in providing a free and learning environment to students is an effective grievance redressal system which is followed consistently.

Implementation of guidelines of statutory /regulatory bodies

While it is a collective endeavour at Shoolini to be impartially supportive to the student community, the grievance redressal system at Shoolini strictly follows the statutory/ regulatory guidelines issued in this regard from time to time. The important highlights are :-

Grievances Redressal Procedure. The Grievance Redressal Procedure followed by the University draws upon the University Grants Commission (Grievance Redressal) Regulations issued under Gazette Notification 2012.

Decentralized Redressal System and Speedy Actions. The University follows a decentralized mode of administering Grievance Redressal System involving Officers/ Deans/ Directors / HOS who are empowered to ensure regulatory/ statutory compliances and competently address the student grievances at their level. They are delegated powers ensuring a different level of regulatory system within their domain with clear responsibilities and boundaries of authority. It is also ensured that an effective system of mutual consultation and coordination amongst the concerned faculty and the dealing officers is followed. Time lines are set for speedy decisions and the decisions are conveyed to aggrieved party within the time line.

Review of Decisions. There is a provision in the system to review the decisions taken by the dealing Officers/ Deans/ Directors/ HOS if these are perceived to be not as per the regulatory guidelines. The University encourages internal appeal mechanisms and students’ right to escalate it to the next higher level on the grounds of fairness and the governing principles of accountability, impartiality, and equality.

The university follows a foolproof system to safeguard women against discrimination. Any type of discrimination at the workplace, in recruitment, and promotion, etc., is taken care of under the policy framed by the university. A report can be filed at the portal or communicated to the members of the ICC. The details of the complaint are kept confidential, and the issue is generally resolved within a week. The committee ensures that the complainant is satisfied by the decision and the final proceedings of the meetings are maintained and conveyed to all concerned.
