Health and well being - Smoke free policy
Smoke-free campus policy has been implemented by university in order to ban tobacco smoking in university and reduction in exposure to smoke, mitigate harmful health outcomes, reduce smoking prevalence, denormalize tobacco use, and potentially discourage youth smoking initiation. Copies of this policy have been distributed to all faculty and staff. Information regarding the policy has been given to all admitted students. Information about the policy and how to comply with it is also available on the Shoolini University website. All the supporting documents have been provided in support of this information.
A talk on “Say No Drugs” was organized where university’s ex-student Ms. Arit Sood was invited. Arit shared his story of how he battled drug addiction and how he was able to come out of it. Zombie Walk was also organized by Shoolini University under “Say NO to Drugs” campaign in Campus as well on Solan Mall road. The purpose of this walk was to raise awareness about drug abuse. A famous Bollywood singer Siddharth Basrur was in Shoolini University for 3 days to guide students on music and shared his journey as a youngster where he spoke about his drug addiction very early in life.
