Water conservation off campus
2023
Shoolini University, deeply rooted in its local community, actively addresses water scarcity challenges. By implementing on-campus rainwater harvesting and water reuse systems, the university minimizes its water footprint. Additionally, through off-campus initiatives like training programs, workshops, and community clean-up drives, the university empowers local communities to adopt sustainable water management practices. These collective efforts contribute to the preservation of natural water resources, ensuring a water-secure future for the region.

2022
Shoolini University has a strong bond with the local community and is involved with the local people for social causes. Water shortage is one of the local problems as Shoolini is situated at the hills and generally, our water needs depend on the supply of water. So, conscious usage and reuse of water is an essential requirement for the local community. Shoolini also supports water conservation off campus. A rainwater harvesting facility is established with the help of university management in the vicinity of the campus and collected rainwater is treated inside the University for Reuse for various purposes such as irrigation of landscape, irrigation to our agricultural farms, construction works, and recharging of the bore well pits. Water is collected in rainwater harvesting tanks from the rooftops and roadside drains. Shoolini also promotes the local community by the training and demonstration camps, off the campus for the cleaning and conservation of water resources. Shoolini conducts workshops with the local community off campus for the demonstrations towards water conservation steps and events. Our students regularly visited “Ashwini Khadd” and local water bodies in the nearby villages to clean the natural water resources, regularly. Shoolini also educates the local communities about the plantation of drought-tolerant plants to preserve water consumption and increase the groundwater level.
