Landscapes to minimise water usage

Considering the infrastructure and buildings at Shoolini University, the University has a very successful model for landscape plantations along with the drought-tolerant plants for water conservation. The plantation in the university not only provides beauty to the campus but also helps intercept rainfall in the foliage, which prevents water runoff, absorbing and filtering water that infiltrates into the soil. The plantation in the university also helps in increasing the groundwater level. In recent times, climate change concerns, unpredictable droughts, and high energy prices across the country are the major issues and nearly everyone is looking for ways to conserve resources and cut costs. A simple step to conserve water usage in your landscape is to select drought-tolerant plants. Hence, in this regard, Shoolini has a plantation of drought-tolerant plants to reduce the usage of water and to support water conservation. Among these plants, even some of the thrifty plants use less water but still provide beauty and function in the landscape. Images of the drought-tolerant plants with landscape plantations at the various places of the university are provided.
