Students of bio-engineering and food technology apply engineering principles to biological systems. Programmes in bio-engineering and food technology equip students with design, analysis and biomedical technologies.  

What is the study of food technology?  

Food Technology integrates and applies knowledge of Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology and Nutrition. Students learn to preserve, process, package and distribute foods that are healthy, affordable, desirable and safe to eat. A growing brand of food science, it involves aspects of processing, preservation, preparation, selection, distribution, etc.

RE-imagined BTech Food Tech Programme

We have taken the lead to develop a unique research-oriented B.Tech. degree programme, the Summit Research Programme, that prepares undergraduate students for global opportunities at leading academic institutions and corporate R&D teams. Fully integrated with the regular engineering curriculum, it provides hands-on exposure to high-quality research, experience with writing technical papers, personal mentorship and interactions with internationally acclaimed research practitioners and experts.

We have collaborations with leading international campuses such as Cranfield University (UK), Ankara University (Turkey), Çankırı Karatekin University (Turkey), Gachon University (South Korea) and University of Naples (Italy).

B Tech Biotechnology 4 years 10+2 with any of the three following subjects — physics /mathematics / chemistry / computer science / electronics / information technology / biology / informatics practices / biotechnology / technical vocational subject / agriculture / engineering graphics / business studies / entrepreneurship and minimum 55% marks.
M Tech Biotechnology 2 years Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology/ B. Tech Biotechnology or an MSc Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry or any other branch of Life Sciences with minimum of 50% marks.
MSc Food Technology 2 years BSc in any stream with minimum of 50% marks.
B Tech Food Technology 4 years 10+2 with any of the three following subjects — physics /mathematics / chemistry / computer science / electronics / information technology / biology / informatics practices / biotechnology / technical vocational subject / agriculture / engineering graphics / business studies / entrepreneurship and minimum 55% marks.
M Tech Food Technology 2 years Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology/ B. Tech Food Technology/ Agriculture/ Biotechnology or an MSc in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry or any other branch of Life Sciences with minimum of 50% marks.
BSc Nutrition and Dietetics 3 years 10+2 (in any stream) with minimum 55% marks.
B Tech (LEET) Biotechnology 3 years Diploma in Biotechnology or related subject with minimum of 50% marks.
B Tech (LEET) Food Technology 3 years A diploma in any field of engineering or technology with minimum of 55% marks.
MSc Nutrition and Dietetics 2 years BSc in any stream with minimum 50% marks.
MSc Food Technology (Research) 2 years BSc in any stream with minimum of 60% marks.
PhD Food Technology 3 years Four years graduation degree/ Master’s degree in Food Technology/ Life Sciences or Physical any other related discipline with minimum 55% marks
BSc (Hons) Food Technology Research 8 semesters 10+2 in PCM/PCB with minimum 55% marks.
