The University prefers to appoint equipment and stationary suppliers based on a number of criteria, including a demonstrated commitment to sustainability and environment responsibility. The focus is based on to promote cost-efficiency without compromising with the sustainability goals. The key objective is to make Shoolini University, a strategically driven procurement institution adhering the principles of sustainable supply chain management. The supplies of paper and other stationary materials is one the prime consumables of any university. The preference is given to the supplier with green policies such as providing post-consumer recycled paper, paper made from fibres from responsibly managed forests, reusable or refillable products, water based inks for markers. Further, the suppliers are preferred with minimal packaging and packaging that contains high recycled materials. The university promotes the “take-back” schemes for end-of-life product. The university always prefers the locally or regionally produced products to minimise the environmental costs associated with transport wherever possible. On the other hand, the university also promotes its Employees to not use business stationery, including memo pads, business cards and envelopes, for personal communications instead encourages electronic communication. Also, the university has mandated all the internal exams to be conducted in “no paper” form and on online mode based on AI.
