Water Security

Shoolini University collaborates with local, regional, national, and international authorities to ensure water security. The university operates in compliance with the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board's regulations, holding a valid "Consent to Operate" certificate until March 31, 2025. This certification permits the operation of one 50 KLD STP, one 350 KLD STP, and one 3 KLD ETP. Furthermore, Shoolini actively engages with local Gram Panchayats to raise awareness, conduct workshops, and organize clean-up drives, fostering community involvement in water conservation and environmental protection.

Shoolini University as a body cooperates with the local, regional, national, and global governments on water security. Shoolini has the consent of the HP state Pollution Control Board, and the university is working under the laws of the pollution control board. Shoolini has “Consent to Operate” u/s 25/26 of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 certificate from the state government of Himachal Pradesh, currently, it is valid up to 31/03/2025 which will further be considered for renewal. As mentioned in the certificate, Shoolini has been permitted with one unit of STP with 50 KLD capacities, one-unit STP with 350 KLD capacity, and ETP with 3 KLD capacity approved by the Himachal Pradesh government. Additionally, Shoolini is working with the local government bodies at the Gram Panchayat level for awareness generation, workshop programs, and cleaning drives.

The university works jointly with government organisations like Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology & Environment, Himachal Pradesh India, for Industrial water treatment in Baddi, Barotiwala and Nalagarh (BBN), and industrial zone of Solan district.
Shoolini University also conducts awareness camps/seminars/workshops with local governing agencies to purify natural water under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan scheme. We emphasise on mass awareness for water security/conservation. The local residents have participated actively in cleaning natural water resources.
