Building standards to minimise water use
Shoolini University applies building standards to reduce the usage of water. Our administration is concerned with the construction of buildings with water recycling and reuse facilities. The rooftops of our buildings are designed to facilitate effectual rainwater harvesting. The campus's infrastructure is equipped with rainwater harvesting tanks strategically placed to capture rainwater runoff. These tanks are designed to hold significant volumes of rainwater and the stored water is further used for various purposes including irrigation in our agricultural fields, and the use of Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) to treat the harvested rainwater. In the same way, our buildings also assist the drainage supply of rainwater to the underground after filtration and treatment which leads to an increase and maintenance of the groundwater level and is one of the foremost concerns in hilly areas like Himachal Pradesh. Hence, Shoolini's building standards are following the protocols to reduce the usage of water. Furthermore, Shoolini harness harvested rainwater to support construction activities across our expansive university campus, where numerous construction projects are underway.
