Understanding Financial Crime: The New Face of Crime Affecting the World

1st International Conference
on Financial Crime Studies (VIRTUAL)
21-22 Jan 2022

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

As Covid hit, the world shifted gears and we started living in virtual space. Everything was online — right from work, to shopping, to classes. The result? Crime too changed course, rearing its “virtual” head! It all started with online shopping and sharing of sensitive information, making the gullible public vulnerable to financial crime offenders — and thus — easy victims.
As losing hard-earned money to financial crimes became the order of the day, the Centre for Financial Crimes at the School of Law, Shoolini University, decided to show ‘The New Face of Crime Affecting the World’ in its first International Conference. Renowned academicians, research scholars, professionals, and policymakers will look into the concept of financial crimes, how they have adversely affected lives and the ways and means to prevent such crimes.

They will raise awareness, which will empower them and prevent such crimes in the future.
The Centre for Financial Crimes at the School of Law, Faculty of Management Sciences and Liberal Arts, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, is a centre for research, established in collaboration with the ‘Financial Crime Lab’ of Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences. This centre will focus on collaborative research in the sensitive area of financial crimes and its effects on the economy. The first International Conference is a step towards strengthening the relationship.
