The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Shoolini University organised an interactive session with industry experts from Panacea Biotec. The session introduced students to career opportunities, industry expectations, innovation, research and emerging trends in the pharmaceutical sector.
Bhupesh Kumar Sharma, HR Lead, Vaccine Unit, and Bachittar Singh, HR Lead, both from Panacea Biotec, interacted with the students. They discussed the importance of scientific thinking, innovation, practical knowledge and continuous learning in building a career in the pharmaceutical industry. They also spoke about vaccine innovation and career opportunities for young professionals.
Prof Rajiv Tonk, Dean of Student Welfare and Professor at Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University, then addressed the students. He encouraged them to approach their studies and careers with a positive attitude. He urged them to explore the diverse fields of pharmacy, strengthen their practical knowledge and actively seek opportunities for professional growth.
Prof Deepak Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shoolini University, outlined the academic programs, research facilities and innovation initiatives. He also discussed the university’s performance in the QS, THE, and NIRF rankings, along with the key research areas of the Faculty.
Prof Kumar spoke about externally funded research projects and grants supported by national agencies and programmes such as DBT-BIRAC, TIH-DST, DST-SERB, MSME, NMICPS-DST, DRDO, NITI Aayog and the Atal Community Innovation Centre. He also discussed consultancy and collaborative research initiatives supported by ICT-DST and E&ICT, IIT Guwahati.
He explained that these initiatives allow students and researchers to work on innovation, entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary research and emerging technologies.
Prof Kumar encouraged students to become job creators rather than merely job seekers. He described the 4Ps—Projects, Publications, Patents and Products—as key pillars of academic growth, innovation and professional success.
Dr Abhishek Singh introduced students to the E-YUVA Centre at Shoolini University (Empowering Youth for Undertaking Value Added Innovative Translational Research). He encouraged students to develop their ideas into entrepreneurial ventures with the Centre’s funding support, mentorship and incubation facilities.
Dr Aditi concluded the academic program by explaining the B Pharm and M Pharm curricula and examination system to newly admitted students.
