AR VR Lab Science Museum

Features cutting-edge technology such as Oculus Quest 2, IRUSU Player, AR VR Headset with SenseXR, 3D Card Studio, 3D Glasses, TECHXR & smartphones with 3D models

In a significant development for education and exploration, the Shoghi Museum has launched a state-of-the-art augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) lab. The inauguration was led by Prabodh Saxena, Chief Secretary of the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Other dignitaries included DC Rana, Director of DEST and CC-cum-Member Secretary of HIMCOSTE, N Ramdas Iyer, Director of NCSM, Delhi, and Suresh C Attri from JMC HIMCOSTE.

The new lab features cutting-edge AR/VR technology such as Oculus Quest 2, IRUSU Player, AR VR Headset with SenseXR, 3D Card Studio, 3D Glasses, TECHXR, and smartphones with 3D models.

During the event, Chief Secretary Saxena emphasised the transformative potential of AR and VR technologies in enhancing real-world environments and providing immersive learning experiences. He highlighted the ability of AR to blend digital elements with physical surroundings and the capability of VR to immerse users in simulated environments.

Shoolini University Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla spoke about the educational benefits of these technologies. He noted that AR and VR make learning more engaging and interactive, allowing students to explore 3D models, participate in virtual field trips, and experience simulations that deepen their understanding of complex concepts.

The museum's AR capabilities will also enrich visitor experiences, enabling interactions with virtual reconstructions and dynamic simulations to enhance the understanding of exhibits and artefacts.

Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla and the Shoolini University management team expressed enthusiasm for integrating AR and VR into educational frameworks. They recognised the potential of these technologies to redefine traditional teaching methods and open new avenues for experiential learning.

This pioneering initiative at Shoghi Museum marks a major stride in leveraging AR and VR to transform education and exploration. Prof Pankaj Vaidya and Associate Professor Anurag Rana from the Yogananda School of AI, Computers and Data Science at Shoolini University coordinated the launch of the AR/VR lab at Shoghi museum.
