Pankaj Vaidya emerges winner in Leadership category
The Golden Rudraksha Awards 2023 at Shoolini University, a much-anticipated event, celebrated outstanding achievements in leadership, faculty performance, and staff contributions. The awards ceremony, held on November 23, highlighted the University's commitment to excellence and recognition of its community members.
This year, the winners were Prof Pankaj Vaidya from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof Pankaj Kumar Chauhan from the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology, and Ishwar Das from the Accounts Department.
The rigorous selection process saw five finalists in each category. For leadership, the finalists included Prof Saurabh Kulshreshtha, Associate Professor Neeraj Gandotra, Brigadier S.D. Mehta (retd), and Associate Professor Purnima Bali, with Prof Pankaj Vaidya clinching the award. The faculty category featured Associate Professor Chander Mohan Gupta, Associate Professor Gaurav Gupta, Namita Gandotra, and Prof. Pankaj Kumar Chauhan, with Prof Chauhan securing the top spot. In the staff category, Anshul, Alice Manju Baxla, Neelam, Prem Bhatti, and Ishwar Dass were the finalists, with Ishwar Das emerging as the winner.
Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, President of the Foundation for Life Sciences and Business Management Saroj Khosla, Pro Chancellor Vishal Anand, and President of Distance and Online Education Ashish Khosla presented the awards.
Selection for these awards involves confidential voting by faculty and staff, assessing candidates on leadership, teaching excellence, and staff contributions. The award, symbolised by a garland of rudrakshas, references a tree planted by former President APJ Abdul Kalam Azad during the University's inaugural convocation.
The ceremony also included a fun quiz for faculty members, adding an engaging element to the event.
