SIPRO director Prof Kumar credits success to teamwork, support & impactful research at Shoolini
Shoolini University researchers have reached the landmark number of 100 patents granted by the Indian Patent Office, which looks after Intellectual Property under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
Achieving 100 granted patents in the short timeframe of 14 years since its inception highlights the university's commitment to excellence and top-notch research across various disciplines, including Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, and Physics.
Leading the charge, the Chemistry and Physics departments have secured 23 and 29 patents, respectively, demonstrating Shoolini's stronghold in scientific research. The Engineering and Pharmacy departments have also made significant strides with 15 and 12 patents, respectively, highlighting the university's dedication to technological advancements. Furthermore, the contributions of the Biotechnology, Bioengineering, and Biology departments, with 9, 8, and 4 patents, respectively, illustrate Shoolini's interdisciplinary approach to research.
Chancellor Prof PK Khosla and Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla have congratulated the researchers for achieving the milestone of 100 granted patents. They said the university would continue to promote research and innovation in the university.
Since its inception in 2015, Shoolini University's Intellectual Property Rights Office (SIPRO) has been making strenuous efforts to secure patents. It had stepped up its efforts during the last couple of years by rigorously following up on the patents filed by the researchers.
Established with the vision of nurturing and safeguarding creative endeavours, SIPRO has become pivotal in promoting intellectual property rights awareness through various workshops and seminars.
SIPRO Director Prof Dinesh Kumar stated that this success was due to the team's hard work, management support, and the excellent research conducted by Shoolini University's researchers and faculty members aimed at societal betterment.
