Week-long celebrations marked a decade of excellence, innovation and leadership of Shoolini University which has emerged as one of the leading research-based young universities of the country.

The atmosphere in the sprawling lush green campus of the University remained surcharged with enthusiasm and festivity throughout the week. The University has grown from the strength of a couple of hundred students in 2009 to about 3500 now and from 30 academic programmes it offered to nearly 90 at present. It is already rubbing shoulders with global universities in some of the research parameters.
The celebrations included a flurry of activities including conferences, exhibitions, workshops, lectures, camps. cultural events, Biz Quiz, inter-departmental competitions and inauguration of a photo gallery dedicated to Nobel laureate Dr Hargobind Khorana.
Speaking at a function to mark the occasion, Founder Vice Chancellor Prof P K Khosla announced that the University would become hundred per cent residential in the next five years and that 30 new programmes would be added to the existing courses offered by the University if approved by the Regulatory Authority.
While signing Memorandums of Understanding with ten international institutions, the Vice Chancellor said the total number of such MoUs has gone above 250. He also underlined that the University has filed 247 patents which was the second highest in the country among universities established during the last one decade. The H-index of the University now stands at the high point of 50, he added.
President of the Foundation for Life Sciences and Business Management Mrs Saroj Khosla was the chief guest at the function while a former judge of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh Justice S S Thakur presided over the function. A former Chief Conservator of Forests Mr Pankaj Khullar delivered the keynote address. Among others, Pro Chancellor of the University Mr Satish Anand was present at the occasion.
Among the most attractive features of the celebrations was "The Manchtantra", a platform for all the students to showcase their talents. Thr competitions in Manchtantra included those in singing, dancing, mimes and fashion show. Another prestigious event Biz Quiz this year saw participation from over 50 schools from all over Himachal Pradesh and adjoining states.
A Model of United Nations was organised by the School of Bio Engineering and Food Technology, on "Climate Change and Sustainability”. The winner was Vageesha Singh, B.tech Biotech 3rd Semester, who represented Canada.
