Toolika Rani GuruTalk Shoolini
Mountaineer, TEDx speaker & award-winning author, this inspiring persona is also India’s Ambassador for Women Empowerment

Solan, October 6

Shoolini University recently welcomed Squadron Leader Toolika Rani, a multi-talented mountaineer, international motivational speaker (TEDx), and award-winning author, for a captivating Guru Talk session. Known not just for her diverse accomplishments but also as India’s Ambassador for Women Empowerment, Toolika Rani has made her mark in various global events, including the World Leader Summit and the G-20 Summit. She is also a brand ambassador for her home state of Uttar Pradesh.

During her talk, Toolika Rani took the audience on a journey through her extraordinary life. She highlighted her academic milestones and achievements in the National Cadet Corps (NCC), where she won gold medals. Rani also shared her lifelong ambition to join the military and spoke openly about her first major setback, making it clear that it did not stop her from chasing her dreams.

“Success may teach us little, but failures offer a wealth of insights and avenues for personal growth,” Rani emphasised. “When you encounter failure, use it as an opportunity to introspect. By channelling your energy effectively, you’ll achieve extraordinary focus.”

Her candid conversation about overcoming personal obstacles struck a chord with the audience, inspiring them to never settle for less in their journeys. “Inanimate objects may settle down, but humans are made to move, explore, and chase their dreams. This is akin to the ceaseless motion of Earth’s particles,” she declared.

Among her many accolades, Rani is most celebrated for being the first woman from Uttar Pradesh to scale Mount Everest in 2012. She’s also the first Indian woman to summit Asia’s highest volcano, Mount Damavand. Her remarkable efforts have earned her 17 prestigious awards, such as the Rani Laxmibai Bravery Award from the Uttar Pradesh government and the Global Woman Award from FICCI.

Coordinated by Poonam Nanda, the Dean of Student Welfare and her team, the event was a hit among the faculty, staff, and students.
