Marking another milestone, Shoolini University has been ranked No.1 in the country and No.4 globally among universities offering the strongest Return on Investment (RoI). The world rankings have been released by the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) under its analysis ‘Bang for Buck’ for the best outcomes relative to the funding inputs of various universities across the globe.
The data team at Times Higher Education analysed existing organisational data to create a comprehensive 'Bang for Buck' report. Drawing on the millions of data points on global higher education held by it, THE data scientists have given each institution in the rankings a score by using three income metrics – institutional income, research income and industry income – and comparing them with the scores for research, teaching and working with industry.
Sorbonne University and Universite Paris Cite, both based in France, topped the list while Brighton and Sussex Medical School of the UK was ranked third.
Shoolini University, which was ranked fourth worldwide, has topped all universities and educational institutions in the country. Significantly, the famous London School of Economics and Political Science has been ranked fifth globally in the category.
Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, while congratulating the researchers and faculty for the achievement, said the university's top position was not surprising, given that it was founded and managed by academicians. He emphasised that as a not-for-profit institution, making profits was never the intention of the Founders and Trustees.
Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla said that the THE Rankings - the gold standard of global rankings, indicated how efficient a university was and the Return on Investment (RoI) it delivered. He said it was a matter of great pride that a 14-year-old university has achieved this feat.
