Shoolini University achieved a new milestone by securing the number one position in Asia for Citations per Paper (joint) in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, announced on November 4. This top ranking reflected Shoolini’s strong research culture and growing global academic influence.
The university also climbed to the 159th position in Asia, up from 168th last year, and ranked 14th in India. The results, announced by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), assessed 1,526 institutions, including 550 from Asia and 294 from India, with 137 new entrants this year.
Shoolini’s consistent rise over the years has positioned it among the most research-intensive universities in the region. The university first appeared in the QS Asia Rankings in 2021 in the 291–300 band. It improved to 271–280 in 2022, 216–220 in 2023, and 168 in 2025 — now reaching 159 in 2026. This steady progress marked a five-year trajectory of focused growth and excellence.
Shoolini’s research success has been driven by its world-class faculty, strong innovation ecosystem, and initiatives such as ‘One Student One Patent’ policy, Mission 130, and Centres of Excellence across biotechnology, AI, nanotechnology, and energy sciences. The university’s emphasis on impactful research and global collaborations has led to over 1,700 patents, 11 research centres, and a strong presence in high-impact journals.
Expressing pride in the achievement, Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla said the recognition reflected the collective efforts of the faculty, researchers, students, and staff. He added that Shoolini’s focus on high-quality research and innovation continues to strengthen its position among Asia’s leading universities.
Shoolini’s performance in the QS Asia 2026 Rankings reaffirmed its growing stature as a research-led university that combines academic rigour with real-world impact.
