
Ranks 69 among universities, 44 in Pharmacy, and placed in 11–50 band for SDG rankings
Shoolini University retained its position as the highest-ranked university from Himachal Pradesh in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 announced by the Union Ministry of Education today. The university secured 69th place in the Universities category, moving one notch above last year’s 70th rank. It remains the only university from Himachal Pradesh in the top 100, emphasising its academic and research strength.
In subject-specific categories, Shoolini delivered a strong performance. It ranked 44th in Pharmacy, setting a benchmark for higher education in the region and standing out as a model of innovation, sustainability, and global competitiveness. The university also featured in the 101–150 band in Engineering, while in the Overall category, it stood in the 101–150 band. A new addition this year was the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) category, where Shoolini earned a place in the 11–50 band, underscoring its initiatives in sustainability and social impact. In comparison, Shoolini was placed 89th in the Overall category, 70th among universities, and 30th in Pharmacy in NIRF 2024.
Chancellor Prof PK Khosla congratulated the Shoolini family on this achievement and called for collective efforts to reach higher. He said, “This year we have improved our NIRF ranking by one point from 70 to 69. Let us now plan to jump by ten points to reach 59. Everything is doable provided we all join hands to achieve this target.”
Pro Vice Chancellor Vishal Anand described the ranking as another proud milestone in Shoolini’s journey. He said, “This is the result of the great work by our faculty, students, and staff. Our focus now is to work towards a Top 50 rank. Research has always been the soul of Shoolini University, and we are determined to take it further by building stronger collaborations, publishing impactful work, and mentoring the next generation of innovators.”
Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla praised the dedication of the university community and reaffirmed Shoolini’s global vision. He said, “This achievement is proof of the innovation and excellence that define Shoolini University. The NIRF 2025 results inspire us to continue our journey towards becoming one of the top universities in the world. Each recognition strengthens our resolve to push boundaries in research, education, and social impact.”
The NIRF 2025 performance reaffirms Shoolini University’s position as the top-ranked university in Himachal Pradesh and one of India’s leading private universities.
