Three days of ceremonies, cultural showcases, and alumni tributes emphasise SILB's enduring legacy

The Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management (SILB) marked its 21st Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and pride on Saturday. Established in 2004 by Prof PK Khosla, Saroj Khosla, Ramesh Mehan, Satish Anand, and other founding members, SILB has made significant strides over the past two decades.

The three-day anniversary celebration at the Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management (SILB) began with a 'Havan' ceremony led by foundation members Saroj Khosla, Prof PK Khosla, Satish Anand, Ashok Anand, Prof Atul Khosla, Vishal Anand, Ashish Khosla, Manorma Anand, Gagan Anand, Nishtha Shukla Anand, Ashoo Khosla, Avnee Khosla, and other distinguished guests. This was followed by the opening of the House Plant Festival, which ran from April 13th to 15th, delighting guests and visitors. The afternoon of the first day saw SILB students present cultural programs, with the highlight being the eagerly awaited 'Shaam-e-Ghazal.'

The House Plant Festival featured an impressive collection of over 100 indoor plants, including exotic species, palms, succulents, bonsai, terrariums, and aromatic plants suitable for potting indoors. Additionally, the festival showcased carved driftwood, wood paintings, stone paint, and bamboo artwork. Visitors savoured delicious treats at the food stalls.

Day 2 of the celebrations featured an Alumni Meet, welcoming and honouring SILB graduates who have made their mark nationally and internationally. Notable alumni who attended the event included renowned scientist Lokender Kumar and Master Chef India Season 8 finalist Nidhi Sharma.

During the celebrations, SILB President Saroj Khosla shared the inspiring journey of building SILB and honoured all founding members. She also thanked the students and staff for their contributions over the past 20 years. Additionally, she recognised the staff and faculty who have completed two decades of service with SILB.

Institute Director Shalini Sharma delivered a vote of thanks, congratulating all founders, the organising committee, and student volunteers for their roles in the successful execution of the event.

SILB is approved by AICTE and affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University. It offers courses in MSc Botany, MSc Chemistry, MSc Microbiology, MSc Biotechnology, BSc Microbiology, BSc Biotechnology, BBA and BCA. The Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management has a proud history of producing academic toppers, with students winning 20 Gold Medals and over 250+ Merit positions in various disciplines. The Institute's students are placed in top companies in India and abroad.
