Tatenda Justice Gunda
Teaching Associate
BSc Biotechnology (Chinhoyi University of Technology); MSc Biotechnology (National Forensic Sciences University, Gujarat)
Tatenda Justice Gunda is a Teaching Associate with a multidisciplinary background in biotechnology, nanotechnology, and computational biology. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Chinhoyi University of Technology and his Master of Science in Forensic Nanotechnology (Nanobiotechnology specialisation) from National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
His current research focuses on plant-pathogen interactions, particularly the ginger-Fusarium oxysporum system. He investigates resistance (NLR) genes and pathogen effector proteins to understand molecular recognition mechanisms and support the development of disease-resilient crops.
His technical expertise includes Python, R, and Perl programming, machine learning-based biological data analysis, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) pipeline development. His research interests span plant-microbe interactions, genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, and integrative bioinformatics.
Tatenda has contributed to scientific publications in genomics and bioinformatics and continues to work toward high-impact research outputs. Beyond academia, he is an avid reader and enjoys exploring new technologies, data visualisation, and collaborative learning environments.
