Assistant Professor
Mehak Thakur is an Assistant Professor at the School of Biological and Environmental Science, Shoolini University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. She holds a PhD in Botany from Shoolini University. Prior to this, she completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Botany from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, India.
Mehak Thakur's research interests lie in the fields of ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology, with a strong focus on exploring the therapeutic potential of medicinal plants through scientific validation. Her work primarily integrates traditional knowledge with modern analytical and pharmacological approaches, contributing significantly to the domains of natural product research and drug discovery.
Asst Prof Thakur has made notable contributions to intellectual property generation, with multiple patent applications related to herbal drug development and extraction methodologies. Her research work has been presented at national and international conferences, where she has received recognition, including awards for her contributions to pharmaceutical and botanical sciences.
In addition to research, she is involved in teaching and mentoring students, guiding them in laboratory techniques, research methodologies, and scientific writing.
