This state-of-the-art facility will drive breakthroughs in AR/VR, IoT & Drone tech
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated an Experience Centre in Emerging Technologies, featuring cutting-edge technology, on the Shoolini University campus on October 16.
This state-of-the-art facility is positioned to serve as a driving force for revolutionary breakthroughs in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Internet of Things (IoT), and Drone technology. It receives support from iHUB DivyaSampark and the Technology Innovation Hub, a collaborative effort between the Department of Science and Technology and IIT Roorkee, operating under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NMICPS).
The centre was inaugurated during the 7th Convocation at Shoolini University. Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, Pro-Chancellor Vishal Anand, and President of Online and Distance Learning, Ashish Khosla, were among those present.
Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla introduced Manish Anand, CEO of iHUB DivyaSamparak, and provided insights into the various technologies encompassed by the Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Internet of Things (IoT), and Drone technology Experience Centre lab.
Manish Anand, CEO of iHUB DivyaSamparak, emphasised the role of AR/VR in adding immersive experiences, interactive simulations, and virtual property exploration to industries such as real estate, gaming, education, and training. Additionally, IoT will enhance efficiency and connectivity, enabling applications in smart homes, precision farming, industrial automation, and data-driven decision-making. He also highlighted the potential applications of drone technology in agriculture, including crop monitoring, aerial photography, surveillance, package delivery, disaster response, environmental monitoring, and more.
The primary objective of this cutting-edge centre is to equip students from Himachal Pradesh and neighbouring states with advanced technological skills to prepare them for the job market. Prof Deepak Kumar, Coordinator of iHUB Shoolini, expressed gratitude for the invaluable support provided by iHUB DivyaSampark in establishing this pioneering centre. He also emphasised the longstanding collaboration between the two institutions, which includes addressing industry-relevant challenges and assisting startups in the Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) domain through incubation and funding.
