Riya Gupta

Riya Gupta is an Assistant Professor at the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, Shoolini University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh. She holds a Master’s degree in Zoology from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, and a Bachelor of Science degree from St Bede’s College, Shimla. Her academic credentials are further strengthened by qualifying the CSIR-NET (Life Sciences) in 2024, reflecting strong subject knowledge and research aptitude. 

Asst Prof Gupta’s research interests include environmental toxicology, animal physiology, ecological health assessment, and the molecular mechanisms of pollutant-induced stress. Her doctoral research aims to generate meaningful insights into fluoride toxicity, bridging environmental chemistry with biological response mechanisms to support improved environmental management and public health outcomes. She is committed to conducting socially relevant, high-quality research aligned with national and global environmental priorities. 

Alongside her research, Asst Prof Gupta is a dedicated and enthusiastic educator who emphasises conceptual clarity, real-world relevance, and inquiry-driven learning. She actively engages students through experiential teaching approaches and strives to cultivate scientific curiosity and critical thinking in the classroom. 

Asst Prof Gupta has actively participated in academic conferences and research forums, including: 

• First Prize (Poster Presentation) at the International Conference on Recent Developments on Interfaces of Chemistry, Biology and Material Sciences towards Health and Environment (ICBMHE-2024), organised by Jaypee University of Information Technology, Wakhnaghat 

• Oral Presentation at ISFCON-2025 on Fostering Collaborations in Pharmaceutical Research: Innovation and AI, organised by ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga, Punjab 

• E-Poster Presentation at National Pharma Fest 2025 – AFFINITY 3.0, organised by Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, Punjab
