Praveen Kumar Verma is an Associate Professor at Shoolini University. He earned his PhD in Chemical Sciences from the CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT) in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. He was a DS Kothari postdoctoral fellow at the University of Delhi, a postdoctoral fellow at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China, and a DST Fasttrack Young Scientist at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine in Jammu, India.
His research is deeply rooted in organic chemistry, with a focus on organic synthesis, catalysis, medicinal chemistry, and natural product chemistry. His innovative work in developing sustainable organic transformations aims to synthesise fine chemicals and bio-relevant organic scaffolds. Prof Praveen is particularly interested in the introduction of selectivity in synthetic protocols using highly selective catalytic systems, including porphyrins, phthalocyanines, and other ligands.
Prof Verma has published numerous impactful research articles in esteemed Scopus-indexed journals. His work is supported by several research projects funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), the Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology & Environment (HIMCOSTE), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and various industrial collaborations. As both Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI, Prof Verma has successfully completed multiple projects and continues to lead ongoing ones.
His academic excellence and research contributions have earned him several prestigious awards, including the DST-Fasttrack Young Scientist Award, the Dr DS Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, the Postdoctoral Award from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the CSIR-Senior Research Fellowship Award.
