Itika Kainthla

Assistant Professor

Itika Kainthla is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Sciences at the School of Physics and Material Science, Shoolini University. She brings an extensive background in catalysis science and nanotechnology to her role. Her doctoral research was centred on Transition Metal-based Nano Catalysts for essential vapour-phase reactions, demonstrating her profound expertise in this critical area.

Asst Prof Itika Kainthla was a postdoctoral fellowship at UCLouvain, Belgium, under the mentorship of Prof. Eric Gaigneaux. There, she worked on advanced catalysis science, focusing on the hydrophilicity-hydrophobicity balance using Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) technology. Her current research projects include exploring materials for hydrogen evolution reactions, contributing significantly to the field of sustainable energy.

Asst Prof Itika Kainthla received a Gold Medal in Nanoscience & Technology from Bangalore University. She is proficient in various scientific instruments and techniques, such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Gas Chromatography (GC), and UV-VIS Spectroscopy. Her practical experience is enriched by time spent in cleanroom environments during her internship at the Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore.

Asst Prof Itika Kainthla has published numerous papers in prestigious scientific journals and presented her work at both national and international conferences and has received accolades for best presentations.

Outside the laboratory and classroom, Asst Prof Itika Kainthla is a dedicated sports enthusiast. She actively participates in ultimate frisbee, badminton, basketball, and running, balancing her professional life with a passion for athletics.
