Shoolini Manchtantra
From vibrant dance acts to the inventive Situational Mashup, students turned Shoolini’s campus into a celebration of creativity and talent

Manchtantra 2025, the much-awaited inter-departmental competition of Shoolini University, turned the campus into a celebration of creativity, colour, and talent. Students from across faculties filled the university with infectious energy as they competed in music, dance, drama, Situational Mashup, and anchoring events, making it one of the most memorable editions of the festival.

Each faculty represented a different decade — from the swinging ’60s to the vibrant 2000s — through costumes, performances, and storytelling. The result was a spectacular blend of nostalgia and imagination, with every act reflecting the diversity and enthusiasm of Shoolini’s student community.

Speaking on the occasion, Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement, said, “Manchtantra reminds us why we create and express ourselves. It’s not just about winning but about learning and growing together. Every performance this year reflected heart, confidence, and the unique spirit of Shoolini.”

The panel of judges included Pooja Verma, a dance instructor at various government schools in Shimla; Vanshu Arora, a fitness professional and influencer; Mr Himachal 2016 (2nd Runner-up); and Harsh Sandhu, a master of music and performer.

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences stood out early in the competition, winning the Flash Mob and Anchoring categories. The Faculty of Basic Sciences and Agriculture, along with the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology, were joint runners-up in the Flash Mob, while the Faculty of Management Sciences secured second place in Anchoring.

In Western Duet Singing, the Faculty of Biotechnology clinched the top spot, followed by Basic Sciences and Agriculture. The Duet Dance (Semi-Classical) category was won by Management Sciences, with Liberal Arts and Biotechnology sharing the runner-up position.

The Situational Mashup, one of the most creative and talked-about events, went to Basic Sciences, with Pharmaceutical Sciences finishing second. The School of Engineering dominated the performance segment, winning Bollywood Dance, Group Folk Dance, and the Fashion Show, while the runner-up titles went to Liberal Arts, Basic Sciences and Agriculture, and Pharmaceutical Sciences, respectively.

In overall faculty participation, Biotechnology emerged at the top, with Pharmaceutical Sciences close behind. The event concluded on a high note with the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology lifting the Overall Champion Trophy for Manchtantra 2025, followed by Basic Sciences and Agriculture as runner-up.
