
Rakesh Kumar Gupta
Professor
Rakesh Kumar Gupta is a Professor of Statistics at the Yogananda School of AI, Computer, and Data Science. With over three decades of academic, research, and administrative experience, he has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration in statistics and allied sciences.
He began his academic career as Assistant Professor (Statistics) at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Raipur, and later served as Professor and Head of the Department of Basic Sciences at Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan. He earned his PhD in Statistics from Punjab Agricultural University, his MSc in Agricultural Statistics from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, and his BSc in Agriculture from CSKHPKV, Palampur.
Prof Gupta’s research focuses on applying advanced statistical methodologies across diverse domains, including agriculture, forestry, business management, biotechnology, food technology, and ecology. He has guided 21 MSc and 9 PhD scholars and has published more than 130 research papers in reputed NAAS-rated journals. His scholarly contributions also include the authorship of the book Statistical Procedures for Agricultural Research Workers (Kalyani Publishers), co-authored book chapters, and the development of training manuals for students and researchers.
In addition, he has successfully led several externally funded research projects as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator, contributing to problem-oriented applied research. Through his extensive scholarship, leadership, and mentorship, Prof Gupta continues to advance the role of statistics in interdisciplinary research and education.
