Associate Professor

Ojas Chauhan is an Assistant Professor (Entomology) at the MS Swaminathan School of Agriculture. He holds a PhD in Entomology from Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Nauni, Solan, where his doctoral research focused on the pestilence of Helicoverpa armigera in relation to plant metabolites in apple. He completed his Master of Science in Agricultural Entomology from the same university and his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur.

His research interests encompass Economic Entomology, Crop Protection, and Apiculture, with a strong focus on pest management and bee breeding. He has expertise in analytical instrumentation, particularly High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and extensive hands-on experience in managing field trials, bio-efficacy studies, and population dynamics research. His research contributions include studies on the effects of colony conditions on Apis mellifera and the host range expansion of Helicoverpa armigera to apple orchards in the Himalayan region.

Asst Prof. Chauhan has actively pursued professional development through advanced training in the application of HPLC, GC-MS/MS, and LC-MS/MS in agricultural exports, along with specialised programs in plant biosecurity and integrated crop management. He is also a holder of the NCC 'C' Certificate and has participated in inter-university sports and cultural events.
