
Deepak Kumar
Assistant Professor
Deepak Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biotechnology from Panjab University, Chandigarh, and earned his PhD from the Department of Experimental Medicine and Biotechnology at PGIMER, Chandigarh.
Asst Prof Kumar brings over four years of experience as a Demonstrator at PGIMER, where he was actively involved in both teaching and research. His research interests include biomarker discovery, enzymology, toxicology, metabolic studies, and the development of point-of-care diagnostic tools (POCT).
He has been recognised for his scientific excellence through numerous national and international fellowships and awards, including CSIR-NET JRF, GATE, the Best Researcher Award, and a certificate of appreciation in the Innovation category. Asst Prof Kumar has authored over 37 publications in high-impact national and international journals, including research articles and book chapters.
In addition to his research contributions, he serves as a peer reviewer for several reputed journals, including Scientific Reports, Archives of Medical Sciences, BMC Cancer, Gastroenterology, Clinica Chimica Acta, and Kidney 360.
