Arunava Poddar is an Assistant Professor at the School of Core Engineering at Shoolini University. He is an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in modeling soil moisture dynamics in the crop root zone. His areas of expertise are Irrigation Scheduling, Soil Moisture Dynamics, Root Water Uptake Modelling, Evapotranspiration, Shallow Ground Water Table, Capillary Rise, Water Balance Studies, Water Harvesting, and Sustainable Water Management.
Prior to joining Shoolini University, he was a Senior Research Fellow at the National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh on a DBT-funded project, entitled ‘Social, economic and environmental trade-offs in managing the land-river-interface'. Arunava obtained his PhD in Water Resources Engineering from the Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh (with MHRD scholarship, 2015-2020). He has also worked as Assistant Professor at Baddi University of Emerging Sciences & Technology (2014-15) and Lovely Professional University (2015).
