Professor Sanjay Sindhu

Professor Sanjay Sindhu is an Advisor at the School of Legal Studies, Shoolini University, with a distinguished academic and administrative career spanning over 24 years. He has previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Chairman of the Department of Laws at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU). Additionally, he held the position of Director at the University Institute of Legal Studies, Ava Lodge Campus, HPU.

Prof Sindhu's teaching portfolio includes LLB, LLM, Master of Computer Science (MCA), Master of Finance Management (MFM), and Master of Technology (M Tech) courses. He has guided over 80 LLM students and seven PhD candidates throughout his career. Prof Sindhu is a prolific author, having published over 60 research papers in international and national journals and edited numerous books. His notable scholarly works include five law books, with his most recent publication titled 'Contribution of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh in Environment Protection' released by Chief Justice Amjad Ahtesham Sayed (retd).

An esteemed speaker, Prof Sindhu has presented papers as a keynote speaker at various international and national seminars and conferences. His international engagements included presentations in the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Taiwan. Recently, he presented on environmental sustainability at the University of Baku, Azerbaijan.

Prof Sindhu received several accolades for his exceptional contributions to academia and law. In 2022, he received the Best Teacher Award from Himachal Pradesh University, presented by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. The following year, he was honoured as the Best Resource Person by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Himachal Pradesh, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India. Additionally, in 2012, he received a Letter of Appreciation from the Governor of Himachal Pradesh for his work translating university ordinances.

His involvement extends beyond teaching and research. Prof Sindhu is actively engaged with various academic bodies, inspection committees, regulatory bodies, and state and national-level organisations. He serves on the core committee for implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and has participated in the Bar Council of India Inspection Teams.

In administrative roles, he has held positions such as Legal Advisor at Himachal Pradesh University and Chairman of the Departmental Litigation Monitoring Committee, managing a range of academic, administrative, and court-related matters. Currently, he is also the legal advisor for the Central University of Dharamshala, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.

Prof Sindhu has acted as an inquiry officer for service matters, disciplinary issues, redressal mechanisms, and various high-power monitoring committees, and has been a member of HPU's highest decision-making bodies, including the Executive Council (EC) and University Court. His extensive expertise in both academic and legal fields makes him a highly respected figure in the legal academic community.
