Azhar Shahab is an accomplished academic and psychologist at the Faculty of Sciences. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, and completed his Master’s and PhD in psychology from Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh. His academic journey reflects his dedication to understanding human behaviour and mental processes.  

Specialising in cognitive, social, and positive psychology, Asst Prof Shahab’s research focuses on promoting mental well-being, inclusivity, and addressing the psychological needs of high-risk populations, including the LGBTQ+ community. His work aims to develop innovative strategies for building resilience and supporting individuals facing societal and psychological challenges.  

Asst Prof Shahab brings diverse professional experience to his role at Shoolini University. He has worked as a Counselling Psychologist with organisations like Wasila and Hamari Sadaa Trust, supporting vulnerable communities. As a Consultant Counsellor with the CBSE Board, he guided students and promoted mental wellness. His expertise extends to corporate and wellness coaching as he has worked as a Wellness Coach at Meta through Apollo Urlife, where he helped individuals enhance their overall well-being. Additionally, he contributed to impactful research as a Project Scientist on an ICMR-funded project at AIIMS, addressing critical health-related psychological concerns.  

Through an interdisciplinary approach combining research, teaching, and practice, Asst Prof Shahab is dedicated to advancing the understanding of psychological resilience and inclusivity.
