
Asir Gani
Assistant Professor
Asir Gani is an Assistant Professor at Shoolini University. He holds a PhD in Food Science and Technology from the Centre of Excellence in Seafood Research, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand.
Before joining Shoolini University, Asst Prof Gani worked as a DBT-Research Associate at the University of Kashmir for two years. He has also served as a Research Assistant at the United Arab Emirates University, Abu Dhabi.
His research focuses on the characterisation and use of food biopolymers such as proteins, starch, and dietary fibres, especially β-glucan. He is also involved in the encapsulation and targeted delivery of bioactive compounds, such as probiotics and plant phenolics, through the gastrointestinal tract. Other areas of interest include new product development, nanoemulsions, and their use as carrier systems for antioxidants during food processing and storage.
Asst Prof Gani has published over 40 peer-reviewed research articles and also holds an extramural research grant.
