Ajay Chawla

Ajay Chawla is an Assistant Professor at the Yogananda School of AI, Computer and Data Science. He holds an M Tech from Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), Delhi, completed in 2026, and a B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra. 

His academic interests lie in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing. His central research interest is in the design of learning algorithms and the mathematical foundations that determine how such algorithms behave, why they succeed on some problems and fail on others, and how they can be made more efficient and reliable.

His M Tech research applied Quantum Machine Learning to problems in network security. His thesis examined the use of Quantum Machine Learning in Intrusion Detection Systems, while his related work extended the same line of enquiry to ransomware detection, studying how quantum-enhanced learning models perform on high-dimensional data where attack patterns shift rapidly. Looking ahead, his research interests include the development of learning algorithms grounded in rigorous mathematical analysis, with an emphasis on algorithmic design rather than any single application domain.

Asst. Prof. Chawla's teaching interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Structures and Natural Language Processing. He places emphasis on building the mathematical reasoning and programming foundations on which advanced study in artificial intelligence depends, while guiding students towards independent and project-driven learning.

He qualified the UGC-NET for Assistant Professor in Computer Science in 2026, with a percentile of 99.47, and has qualified the GATE in Computer Science in both 2024 and 2026. Outside academics, he has played cricket at school and college level.
