VISION

The BSc Zoology program envisions to provide profound excellence in teaching, research, strong concepts foundation, inculcating high values, empathy towards fauna, sustainability and faunal diversity conservation

MISSION1: The mission of this program is to start with building high quality base of education focusing on theoretical, practical, analytical reasoning, problem analyzing and applying knowledge approaches.

MISSION2: To build a conducive environment for sensitizing students for animal welfare, conservation, sustainable development

MISSION3: Emerge as a recognized center for conducting research by encouraging innovative thinking in student

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE 

• PEO-1: To provide high quality education in Zoology with different specializations
• PEO-2: To encourage critical thinking and analytical abilities of students for pursuing research
• PEO-3: To promote skill based education to promote students in self-employment in different fields of Zoology
• PEO-4: To provide opportunities for professional and personal development through curricular and co- curricular activities.
• PEO-5: To nurture students to develop empathy for faunal diversity importance and conservation with help of conducting  field surveys
• PEO-6: To enlighten students to become responsible citizen for benefit of society

PROGRAM OUTCOME OR PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOME

• PO-1: Domain knowledge: Development of knowledge and comprehension of the foundations associated with the profession of life sciences including various aspects of animals including their diversity and habitat; morphology and reproduction; cell biology, genetics, and molecular biology; development and animal behaviour. Awareness about relevant theories, paradigms, concepts, and principles in zoology.
• PO-2: Critical Thinking and analytical Abilities: Utilize the principles of scientific inquiry, thinking analytically, clearly and critically, while solving problems and making decisions during daily practice. Find, analyze, evaluate and apply information systematically and shall make defensible decisions
• PO-3: Personality and skill development: Incorporation of communication and expression abilities for better amalgamation in the society. Along with specialized in-hand practical knowledge in biological research. Students will develop ability to design, write and comprehend research reports, documents, and presentations, incorporating scientific temperament.
• PO-4: Interdisciplinary Perspective: Commitment to intellectual candidness and evolving tolerant beyond subject domains. Able to understand the relation with other domains like physical, chemical, environmental and societal as well as sustainability. Appreciation of diversity and inclusion of all domains of academics
• PO-5: Environmental awareness: With special reference to Himalayas, students will be able to identify the impact of anthropogenic activities on environment as well as on society and the need for sustainable development. Analyze complex interactions among the organisms, their distribution and relationship with the environment.
• PO-6: Life-long learning and commitment to nation’s development: Engagement in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological changes. Appreciate development via linking local, societal, and national issues and contexts related to academics, research, and application.
