Dr. Gaurav Sharma started his research activity in 2009 at Shoolini University (India) as a master of philosophy. After that, he completed his research work as a PhD student with the preparation and characterisation of diverse multifunctional nanomaterials and their composites, especially focused on potential applications in environmental remediation (as photocatalysts and adsorbents).
Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the School of Chemistry at Shoolini University (India), where he carried out diverse research lines, interrelated to each other based on the synthesis and characterization of nanocomposites, hydrogels, bi, and trimetallic nanoparticles, ion exchangers, adsorbents and photocatalysts, etc.
Gaurav was invited as a visiting research professor from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) in 2017 and 2019. In 2017, He joined as a postdoctoral fellow at the college of materials science and engineering, Shenzhen University. He got a project from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation in 2018. In 2020, he has been recognized as a Highly-Cited Researcher for 2020 by Clarivate Analytics of Web of Science Group.
He performed and taught different courses as nanochemistry, polymer chemistry, spectroscopy, and natural products, among others. On the other hand, he supervised 5 Master of Philosophy, and more than 25 Master and Bachelors students. He has established collaborative research with various professors in countries such as Finland, Saudi Arabia, China, Spain, and South Africa.
He is a reviewer of more than 30 journals including Scientific Reports, Chemical Engineering Journal, Materials Chemistry and Physics, Journal of Molecular Liquids, Environmental Pollution, Carbohydrate Polymers, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, Environmental Technology, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, etc.
