Saima is an Assistant Professor at Shoolini University. She holds a PhD from the CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow (UP) and an MSc in Organic Chemistry from HNB Garhwal University, Uttarakhand.
Asst Prof Saima was a Dr DSK postdoctoral fellow and conducted her research at NIPER Mohali as SERB-NPDF and Panjab University, Chandigarh. Her research contributions are exemplified by 29 research papers and review articles published in esteemed organic chemistry journals, including Angew Chem Int Ed. Asst Prof Saima has also presented her work at 16 national and international scientific conferences, earning recognition such as the Best Poster prize at CSIR-CDRI Lucknow in 2015.
Specialising in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds of medicinal interest using green chemistry tools, her research extends to the synthesis of nanomaterials like carbon and quantum dots, along with their conjugation with peptides for drug discovery. Her scholarly impact extends beyond publications, as Asst Prof Saima has authored two book chapters published in Elsevier and Wiley.
Asst Prof Saima has also worked as a reviewer for esteemed journals like Chemistry Central Journal (BMC-BioMedCentral)-Springer and Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry (Wiley). She teaches Organic Chemistry, reaction mechanisms, reagents, spectroscopy, and photochemistry.
