Shoolini University, renowned for its innovative approach to education, broke new ground with the grand inauguration of the Tagore School of Design. The School was inaugrated by Swami Swarnananda Giri, Vice President of the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India. This avant-garde institution is set to revolutionise the concept of academic buildings, defying conventional norms and embracing a refreshing design that embodies sustainability and aesthetics.
Nestled in the serene beauty of a Pine forest, the Tagore School of Design stands tall as a testament to Shoolini University’s commitment to pushing boundaries and redefining the educational landscape. This architectural marvel is a fully sustainable structure crafted primarily from wood and steel, showcasing the institution’s dedication to promoting a sustainable environment.
The Tagore School of Design is headed by Prof Amit Ray, who initiated the Design School at IIT Kanpur. Prof Ray was head of the B Des Program at IIT Kanpur, India, and an Adjunct Professor at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Campus, Australia.
Spread over three levels, Shoolini’s School of Design has a unique character and purpose for each one. The top floor, aptly named Studio 3, is a haven for 2D design enthusiasts, providing a creative space with inspiration and resources. Students and faculty will immerse themselves in an environment conducive to innovation and artistic expression.
Moving down to the middle floor, Studio 2 greets visitors with its Seminar-cum-Studio layout. This versatile space caters to many activities, acting as a hub for intellectual discourse, collaborative projects, and interactive sessions. The fusion of academia and practicality in Studio 2 fosters a holistic learning experience, encouraging students to think critically and engage actively in their educational journey.
On the ground floor is Studio 1, a state-of-the-art Fabrication Lab for Material Study and Prototyping that unleashes the creative potential of aspiring designers. Equipped with cutting-edge technology and materials like Lethe Machine, Milling Machine, Welding Machine, etc., the lab facilitates hands-on exploration and experimentation. Here, students can bring their design ideas to life, honing their skills and transforming concepts into tangible products.
The Tagore School of Design is not just an academic building but a sanctuary that blurs the line between education and nature. With its picturesque location, the School provides students and faculty with a tranquil and inspiring setting to pursue their passions.
By challenging the traditional notion of brick-and-mortar structures, Shoolini University sends a clear message: Innovation knows no bounds, and education can thrive in an environment that sparks imagination and breaks free from age-old assumptions. The Tagore School of Design is set to become a beacon of change, revolutionising higher education and inspiring the next generation of creative minds to dream big and think outside the box.
