The Yogananda Knowledge Centre (YKC) at Shoolini University transformed into a lively arena of clues, curiosity, and competition as it hosted a campus-wide Book Hunt to spark greater student engagement with the university’s library resources.Â
The event drew an enthusiastic response from 706 students across all faculties, who raced through the library, solving riddles and tracking down books in a timed challenge. Designed to turn a traditional space into a dynamic zone for learning, the Book Hunt encouraged students to explore and familiarise themselves with the wealth of knowledge housed in the library — all while having fun.
The contest saw intense participation, and Nikhil Uttam from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences secured the First Prize for his top performance. BSc Biotechnology student Surbhi won the Second Prize, while Nishchay Tomer, a BPharm second-year student, took the Third Prize. Eleven other participants were recognised with consolation prizes for their spirited involvement.
The event concluded with a prize ceremony attended by Founder Chancellor Prof PK Khosla as Chief Guest. Registrar Prof Sunil Puri, Brig Sunil Mehta, Director Sustainability Poonam Nanda, Dean Student Welfare Prof Neeraj Gandotra, ND Sharma and several Heads of Schools, Deans, and Directors joined the celebrations and encouraged the participants.Â
Winners were selected by a jury comprising Prof JM Julka, Namita Gandotra, and Assistant Professor Sharad, who monitored the event and ensured a fair evaluation.
The event was steered by Col TPS Gill (retd), Director YKC, and Librarian Puja Thakur, with strong support from the library team — Neelam Thakur, Rakesh Sharma, and Neha Thakur. Harsha Thakur and Deepak Verma handled coordination.
Organised in collaboration with the Dean Student Welfare Office, led by Prof Neeraj Gandotra, the initiative aimed to raise awareness about the rich academic resources available at the YKC and inspire students to engage more deeply with the library ecosystem. Assistant Professor Sharad from the Dean Student Welfare Office anchored the event.Â
