MSc Agriculture with specialisation in Genetics and Plant Breeding is a new and thriving branch of modern biology.

The curriculum at Shoolini University includes the art and science of changing the traits of plants to produce desired characteristics and in turn, improve the quality of nutrition in products for humans and animals. Aspirants will primarily study technological methods to improve varieties and genetic stocks, transform the genetic makeup of plants, and create innovative breeding technologies to positively impact the production of food, feed, and fibre.

Most of the faculty is an alumnus of global universities such as Oxford, NIH, NCI, and Johns Hopkins Medical School, as well as top universities of India like IISc, JNU, DU, and ZSI. Many faculty members have received grants from National and International funding agencies.

The MS Swaminathan School of Agriculture at Shoolini University has a blend of senior and young faculty with Doctoral degrees in their respective fields. All faculty members are enthusiastic and motivated to experiment with promoting scientific agriculture for the benefit of the farming community. Dr YS Negi is the Dean of the School of Agriculture. With over 38 years of teaching and research experience, he has a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.

After completing this degree, you can serve as assistant professors, research scientists, and plant breeders in educational and research institutes and MNCs. You can also serve in banks as Agriculture Field Officers and in research labs as research fellows/research associates.
