Shoolini Trains Faculty for Future-Ready Teaching

Shoolini University hosted a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled ‘Educators of Tomorrow’, where 150 faculty members came together to explore emerging tools, teaching methods, and strategies for modern education.

Held under the leadership of Shoolini University’s Chief Learning Officer, Ashoo Khosla, the FDP focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in classrooms, outcome-based learning, interdisciplinary teaching, and strengthening academia-industry connections.

The opening day encouraged faculty members to engage in self-learning activities, helping them reflect on their teaching methods. Day Two featured sessions by Somak Ghoshal from the JETRI team, who spoke about developing a future-ready mindset and creating more engaging classrooms. Faculty members shared their experiences in interactive discussions that followed.

On the third day, Dean Academics Prof Narinder Verma and Prof Indu Rihani guided participants on defining clear learning goals and improving lesson planning. Ashoo Khosla led a session on designing creative elective courses that inspire joy in teaching and learning.

One of the most talked-about sessions was ‘AI in Class’ by Associate Dean at the Indian School of Business Chandan Chowdhary. He demonstrated how AI can enhance classroom learning and streamline teaching processes. “AI won’t replace humans, but humans who use AI will replace those who don’t,” he remarked.

The final day featured a panel discussion with industry leaders — Bindu Ajit (AVP, Biocon Academy), Apoorve Aggarwal (Head, ITSM & ESM Practices, TCS BFSI), and Rajit Sikka (Regional Head – Academic Alliances, TCS). They shared valuable insights on how higher education institutions can bridge the gap between academia and industry by integrating practical skills, internships, and real-world exposure into the curriculum.

Reflecting on the program, Ashoo Khosla said, “We wanted to help our teachers think in new ways, adopt modern tools, and stay in tune with the evolving needs of today’s students. I’m proud of the enthusiasm shown by our faculty. I believe this FDP will lead to meaningful transformation in our classrooms.”
