Shoolini Awareness Rally Champions Humanity in Solan

In a strong show of solidarity and social awareness, Shoolini University, in collaboration with the Red Cross Society, Solan, organised an Awareness Rally on the theme ‘On the Side of Humanity’. The event brought together students, faculty members, and community volunteers to spread the message of compassion, empathy, and shared responsibility.

This initiative is part of Shoolini University’s larger mission to nurture socially conscious citizens and engage youth in community-building efforts. The university consistently promotes human values through academic, cultural, and outreach activities, often working closely with local authorities and social organisations.

The rally was flagged off at Mall Road, Solan, by Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma, who praised the university and the Red Cross Society for organising a campaign centred on kindness and unity. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the importance of restoring human connections in today’s fast-paced and fragmented world. He also encouraged young people to become active agents of positive change.

Led by Prof Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW), the rally moved through the town’s central areas, beginning from the Old DC Office and concluding at the Old Bus Stand. Participants carried banners and handmade placards with powerful messages such as ‘No Greater Power Than a Heart That Helps, Together, We Rise by Lifting Others’, and ‘For Humanity, With Humanity, Through Humanity’.

Students and volunteers interacted with local residents, distributing printed messages that promoted peace, inclusion, and support for the underprivileged. The rally aimed to raise awareness and inspire individuals to take small steps in their everyday lives to help others. One of the more striking placards read ‘One Act of Help, a Hundred Smiles’, reminding everyone that change often begins with a single kind gesture.

At the Old Bus Stand, the rally concluded with a brief closing ceremony, where organisers thanked all participants and reiterated the importance of carrying forward the spirit of humanity. The event left a strong impression, reinforcing that even in a busy world, there is always space for empathy and shared humanity.
