Shoolini University, in collaboration with DigiMantra, organised a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the theme ‘Bridging Industry and Academia through AI-Powered Teaching and Learning’. The day-long event brought together faculty members, senior administrators, and industry professionals to explore how Artificial Intelligence can reshape modern teaching and learning.
The FDP was part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) previously signed between Shoolini University and DigiMantra, under which an Incubation Centre has been announced. The centre aims to create opportunities for student placements, industry-led projects, faculty training, and knowledge exchange. It will also facilitate FDPs, curriculum development, Microsoft certification programmes, and live student projects.
Delivering the keynote address, Bikramjit Singh, Global Vice President of DigiMantra, discussed the evolving professional landscape and the need for graduates to become interdisciplinary experts. He highlighted emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure, noting that adaptability across these areas will define future career success.
The sessions focused on the shift from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0, emphasising the growing role of human–machine collaboration and sustainable development. Through interactive activities, participants designed industry-oriented assignments, analysed existing skill gaps, and took part in a corporate-level simulation exercise. Faculty members were also introduced to AI-driven tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Tableau GPT, and Canva Magic Design, which can be integrated into classroom learning and content creation.
Shoolini University Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla appreciated the initiative as a forward-thinking step towards strengthening the university’s collaboration with the industry. He said the FDP would help educators adopt innovative methods and prepare students for the changing demands of the global workforce.
Prof Sunil Puri (Registrar), Brig Sunil Dutt Mehta (Director Operations), Prof Pooja Verma (Assistant Director, SCDOE), and Rohit Khosla (Vice President, Industry Relations and Career Services, SCDOE) attended the event.
