First Spot in Short Film category; second in Ad Mad, Reel Making & Photography.

In a remarkable showcase of talent and skill, students from the School of Media and Communications at Shoolini University triumphed at the 7th Media Fest, clinching the overall trophy. The prestigious event was held on Friday at Chandigarh University, Landran, near Chandigarh. 

Demonstrating exceptional creativity and technical prowess, the Shoolini team emerged victorious in the Short Film category, claiming the first prize. They also secured second place in the Ad Mad, Reel Making, and Photography categories. Further showcasing their versatility, the team attained third position in both Radio Jockey and Online Photography. 

This year's Media Fest at Chandigarh University saw participation from around 40 universities and colleges across India, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere. Esteemed institutions such as CT Group of Institutions, Kurukshetra University, Punjabi University, Chitkara University, Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication, Government Science College Sector 10, Christ University Yeshwantpur, Guru Nanak Dev University, Uttranchal University, Jamia Millia Islamia University (Delhi), Mata Gujri College, and the host, Chandigarh University, all fielded their best talents. 

The competition categories at the 7th Media Fest were diverse and challenging, including documentary making, live reporting, radio jockey, photography, poetry, ‘nukkad natak’ (street play), ad mad, dubbing, and online photography. This broad spectrum of categories provided a platform for students to exhibit their skills in various aspects of media and communications. 

Prof Vipin Pubby, Director of the School of Media and Communications at Shoolini University, expressed immense pride in the students' achievements. Congratulating them, he acknowledged their hard work and dedication that led to this victory. 

Shoolini University Trustee and Director Nishtha Anand congratulated the students for their exceptional performance. “This victory reflects the extraordinary capabilities of students and excellence of education at Shoolini University,” she said.  

School of Media and Communications Associate Professor Ranjna Thakur, who accompanied the team, described the win as “a much-awaited dream come true”. She reflected on the journey and preparation that culminated in this triumphant moment. 

Assistant Professor Indu Negi, also accompanying the students, noted the immense enthusiasm among the participants. She said the vibrant and dynamic event also celebrated media and communication skills. 

The success at the 7th Media Fest marks a significant milestone for Shoolini University's School of Media and Communications, solidifying its reputation as a cradle of emerging talent in the media and communications field. The students' victory at this national-level competition is not just a win for the university but a shining example of the potential and calibre of young media professionals in India.
