International Women’s Day: Shoolini Commits to Promoting Gender Equality

Shoolini University celebrated International Women’s Day with a strong commitment to promoting gender equality. The theme Embrace Equity, highlighted the importance of providing equal opportunities and rights to women.

Shoolini University Chancellor Prof Prem Kumar Khosla, who was the chief guest, shared his thoughts about the significance of gender equality in today’s society, highlighting the university’s efforts to promote womens empowerment.

Several faculties from the university actively participated in the event, organising various competitions in honour of women, such as debates, quiz competitions, and cultural performances. The Faculty of Pharmacy emerged as the overall winner, followed by the Faculty of Management Science.

Aarshi Rai from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Astha from the Faculty of Sciences stood first in creative writing and elocution competitions, respectively. The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences won the quiz competition, and Arusha from the Faculty of Legal Sciences won the first prize in the Woman of Substance category.

Deepika Dahiya from the Faculty of Management Sciences and Nishant from the Faculty of Sciences were declared the runners-up in the Woman of Substance and Man of Substance categories, respectively. All winners received certificates and trophies.

Shoolini University Dean Student Welfare Mrs Poonam Nanda expressed the institution’s commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive environment for women and supporting their growth and development through various events. She stated that the theme of Embracing Equity was essential, rather than just desirable. The event was organised by the Office of the Dean Student Welfare.
