The Tagore School of Design at Shoolini University threw open its annual Design Exhibition 2026 at Pine Court, presenting a lively display of student-led projects that brought together artistic instinct, technical thinking, and original ideas in equal measure.
Founder-Chancellor Prof PK Khosla inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Registrar Dr Sunil Puri and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof Virender Rihani. The dignitaries commended the students on their creative approach and urged them to keep pushing boundaries through hands-on learning and experimentation.
The exhibition's most talked-about attraction was the design disassembly of an Audi car — a gift from Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla. Through reverse engineering and close physical analysis, students took apart the vehicle, studied its components in detail, and developed innovative concepts based on what they found. The exercise was as much about problem-solving and technical understanding as it was about design thinking.
The rest of the exhibition was equally varied. Visual design compositions, colour theory explorations, storytelling panels, lino prints, and artistic sketches lined the space, each reflecting a confident mix of conceptual clarity, cultural interpretati
on, and expressive technique.
Interactive student presentations added another dimension to the event. Participants walked faculty members and visitors through their design process — explaining what inspired them, how they worked through challenges, and what choices shaped the final outcome. Themes ranged from visual hierarchy and narrative design to experimental techniques and cultural interpretation.
Faculty members Dr Sashank Thapa, Amogh Chougule, and Praba Subramaniam praised the students for their originality and fresh approach to each brief. Dr Sashank Thapa noted that exhibitions of this kind do more than display finished work — they help students build confidence, sharpen their communication skills, and gain a real sense of what working in the industry demands.
