Shoolini Celebrates Spirit of Innovation

Shoolini University recently hosted the second edition of ‘Innovation Day’ to celebrate the spirit of innovation and highlight the remarkable research, innovation, and entrepreneurial endeavours of its faculty members, students, and industry partners.

Justice Sushil Kukreja of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh was the chief guest for the event. The Guest of Honour was the Department of Laws Dean, Himachal Pradesh University, Prof Sanjay Sindhu.

The event was organised by the Shoolini Intellectual Property Rights Office, under the guidance of Shoolini Intellectual Property Rights Office (SIPRO) Coordinator Prof Dinesh Kumar, in collaboration with Shoolini University Faculty of Legal Sciences Associate Dean Prof Nandan Sharma.

Justice Sushil Kukreja addressed the audience, sharing insights into the advancements made in the Indian courts, including implementing paperless courts nationwide. He highlighted the efforts being made to translate judgments into Hindi and English, ensuring accessibility and clarity. Justice Kukreja also emphasised the importance of resilience and learning from failures.

In his welcome address, Dean of Postgraduate Studies at Shoolini University Prof Dinesh Chatanta shared the remarkable achievements of Shoolini University, including its high rankings in innovation. He also emphasised the significance of the University’s in-house Patent Cell and its focus on increasing utility patents. Prof Chatanta highlighted the Summer Patent School initiative, which nurtured and encouraged innovative thinking among the school students.

Addressing the audience, Prof Nandan Sharma emphasised the importance of intellectual property rights for everyone, encouraging attendees to embrace their passion for invention. He acknowledged the growing relevance of AI-based innovations and stressed the need to develop new rules to address emerging challenges. Prof Sharma also highlighted the commercial value and aspects associated with intellectual property.

Prof Sanjay Sindhu emphasised the necessity of protecting creative works through patenting, urging creators to cultivate habits of creativity and innovation.

Shoolini University Founder and Chancellor Prof PK Khosla said Shoolini Innovation Day is a platform to exchange ideas and explore collaborative research, innovation, and entrepreneurship opportunities. It aims to foster a culture of innovation and inspire individuals to pursue their creative aspirations. Prof Khosla also highlighted the significance of intellectual property rights and its role in promoting innovation and safeguarding creativity.

Pro Vice Chancellor Vishal Anand thanked all dignitaries for their presence and support in making the Innovation Day at Shoolini an engaging and informative event that fostered collaboration and inspired visionary concepts and thought-provoking ideas.
